Just a tease.

1st game in December and I managed another final table, with a 9th place finish from about 70 players. Satisfying but ultimately pointless as that added £0 to my bank roll...I got to the final table as the short stack with 33k and blinds at 4k/2k/400. First hand the button and the SB clash. Raise from the button, the small blind who is chip leader shoves all in, bb folds and the button instacalls with Aces. SB turns over 9, 3 off suit(!)

"I thought he was at it".

 For once the deck doesn't reward the 9 3 move and the aces hold.


 2nd hand I get pocket 4's.

I,m utg + 1, the next orbit will cost me 9000 of my 32,600 stack.

I shove all in, fingers crossed, another guy shoves over the top of me and its down to the two of us, I,m hoping to see Ace, King, but alas the Villain also has been given pocket aces.
I,m out of my seat and getting the jacket on..

Flop comes down, 2,3, 4. Boom a set! SUCK OUT!

I sit back down.

Turn comes a harmless 7

River ................ 5. Straight. Bah.

I stand up again.
Not even a bad beat, just a tantalising tease.

LONDON

I was hoping to play the Fox poker club when I'm in London this weekend. I got knocked back from there the last time as I didn,t have my passport, so I tried to sign up online and it turns out the place has shut down! Apparently due to "under performing".
I'll never understand why exclusively poker clubs are the norm and seem to thrive in mainland Europe, but in the UK they seem to rely on the casino side to stay open.
I'll probably go for either the Golden Nugget or the Mint Casino. I,ve had a bit of success at both venues but both have also struggled for numbers for their tournaments on previous visits.
